Angry Problem:DRL stay on with engine off!!??

I recently have had a problem with my '02 WRX Daytime Running lights not turning off when I turn my car off! I've done all I can think of and have resorted to disconnecting the battery everytime I park. I've even tried disconnecting the relay switch behind the glove box and that still didn't do it?? Any ideas because I'm frustrated?!

Are you sure it's the DRL and not your parking lights? You might have flipped the switch on the center top of the steering column. That will cause your rear lights and front parking lights to come on.

Just disable it through the passenger side under the glove box. Its better that way.

That happened to me in my old WRX when I first bought it, I couldn't figure it out but it happened to be that damn parking light switch. Katie your from SLT? I just moved from there, I kind of miss it.

Yes!!! Silly me...the parking light switch on the steering column I didn't even notice!! Days of frustration solved so easily, thank you.
I do live in SLT, not from here though. It's an amazing place here. Looking forward to the snow.

Unlike some, I first read about the problem about inadvertently hitting the parking light switch and then I bumped it many months later - I knew what to do.

You South Lake Tahoe folks might want to check out the Reno meet sometime. Their counterparts in Sacramento are also not all that far from you. See the SRIC (Sacramento-Reno i-Club) regional sub-forum and its Meets sub-forum for more info or PM one of the moderators of those forums.
