oem wrx AND sti diffuser?
i just got done installing the oem 02-03 rear diffuser, thanks to Theo79
as i stood there, admiring my work, i had the random thought: what it would look like with BOTH diffusers installed. the outter fins of the STI diff line up almost perfectly with the two inner fins of the 02-03 diff, with a small enough gap that can be filled with something (still in thought process) and the sti fin line is almost perfect to match up with 03 diff and follow the fin all the way up. any ideas? any one try this?

im going to try putting up sti diffuser and she what it looks like. ill post up pics with both of them on, as im sure as stated, im not the only one who has thought about it. but never actually seen it done. im going to find a way to mock up the sti (not sure if i would want to weld sti brackets just yet, as i prefer wrx diff better)

It's been done before. Wanted to do it to my bugeye many years back, but didn't want to buy the Cusco bar lol. There was a picture of the set up floating around on nasioc awhile back, but I can't seem to find it anymore. With both on, you'll mainly see the bugeye diffuser, unless you really look under the car.
I have the Cusco/STi combo on my GC now and I barely notice it's there haha.

ah. same here, i dont want to pay crazy amount for cusco bar. i picked up sti diffuser for $20. would you spend the $ to mount a 20 dollar piece of plastic? lol. i may be picking up the rear oem sti bracket and running 2 long bolts through the spare tire compt. ya, im having trouble finding a good pic. and yes, i figuered the wrx diff would be more visible than sti. thats the main reason i went with 03. i like the fact that i can see the wrx diffuser more. i was thinking if it looks ok with both, that id go a bit further with fab. i would want to try to make the 2 outer sti fins run from the front of sti diffuser to back and up of wrx diffuser.
If you can pick up another STi diffuser, you could try to mount them together to get a diffuser that spans the whole rear end. I've seen a picture of someone doing that... You could even go one step further and cut them up to get the fins to line up.

Many people mount it they way you plan to - Drill through the spare wheel pan using some bolts. I bought the Cusco set up for a good price, plus the Cusco bar helps add a little rigidity to the rear end. I can't say that the price spent is worth the added difference, but meh haha. I love Cusco products and you can't go wrong with more blue pieces!

so im bringing this thread back to life. i previously was wondering what the 2 diffusers would look like mounted together (both in respective locations) i was toggling an idea such as these pics that i took this morning. this is not how its going to look in the end, just actually going out with my ideas ive had.
but as a "first draft" what do you guys think? i bought the rear diff off Theo79 on here and it needed paint bad. i re painted it black and threw BAIC on there. at first i was going to write SUBARU before i realized i only had 3 fins to work with for even spacing.
looking for ideas, feedback, compliments, positive criticism. thanks guys. have a great one!

for sure. thanks. i was also thinking smaller letters (so there is black above and below letters), and paint match the letters BRP. just another idea. ya i had to do some cutting to make that diff fit. lol. im glad with the turn out tho. i personally prefer the JDM rear spats over OEM
