funny thing, last week a small number 7 was noticed on the left bottom corner of my '03 wrx mirror. it's one of those auto-dimming compass mirros. which incidently is much more effective than the one i had in a chrysler concorde.

it appears to be on the back-side of the glass. when looking at it from an angle, you see a double reflection.

anyone else have this or know what it is?

I belive your car Is the only one. I checked out 2 other cars today and saw nothing. Wierd.

 

well my friend's 330i had the same thing. weird but at least i've seen it so you don't feel crazy

 

THANK YOU... yes, now i know i'm not crazy. i've been thinking maybe it has something to do with the compass part of the mirror showing the correct zone, but the manual says the mirror comes set for zone 8 in the US. maybe this mirror was mistakenly put on the car and it's like a canadian mirror/compass. i dunno. strange though. i wonder if SOA would know?

 

if i remember correctly his was actually a backwards 7... maybe from the mirror effect. it was VERY hard to see unless you were looking at the right angle.

 

it's very small, and appears etched in. but, i can see it pretty much at any angle and it's the same orientation that it would normally appear: 7

you can see the double image. the nickle is there to assist in focusing, though they are still not that sharp.

i'm starting to find it hard to believe that noone else has this or has seen this. well, besides the BWM reply above. does anyone in this club work at a subbie dealer in sales or service? or with SOA?
