No Mo' Momo.. K4RT30Y Owns.
So today after months of discontent I finally fixed my shift ****. The Momo Race Air leather that i've had for almost a year now while very pretty is just not for me. The PITA of A. Trying in vain to equally turn all the screws to hold it in place. and B. listening to the metal cap at the bottom clink and rattle around when it eventually comes undone from A not being done right even after 10+ attempts to fix it and C. The electric tape and rubber band mess that had to hold up the still sagging shift boot to keep it from looking retarded just made me sick of the ordeal.
So I opted to include a Kartboy Knuckleball in my Shifter/Bushing combo that I finally ordered (funny since I remember when the ORIGINAL kartboy shifter was a service that required you to send them your OEM shifter back for modification, just to show you how old school I am... and to show you how long it took me to get around to ordering one)
Order went out Tuesday by snail mail and in the usual awesome fason now customary for Kartboy the order was here on Saturday
Packaged in a yellow 'K4RT3OY' barcode shirt, and including a temoprary tatoo, and a twizzler (once again KB kicks *** but you shouldn't expect anything less!)
So being that I was antsy to get the rattling Momo off my car I decided to just go ahead and install the **** under the pretense that I needed to get used to it before I installed the rest.
After about 5 minutes of allen wrenching the momo off, then removing the panels to get rid of the jury rigged 'boot holder'. The knuckleball screwed right in and the boot popped right on. Proving once again that Italian Fashon is little substitute for good American engineering in the first place.
So on to a couple of comments on it:
A. the **** is alot smaller then I expected but this is not a bad thing it is very smooth and comfortable. However I will have to concoct some sort of sock to keep over the black metal to keep it from getting scalding hot in the summer
B. The sticker is a darker blue then any of the pics i've seen (though since the short shift lever is not in yet I have not put it on yet so as to ensure it is properly aligned..) The early pics seemed more light blue A-La WRB which made me at first apprehensive about buying the color since I have a BRP car. But in person the blue is much darker and very nicely matches all my blue/black CF accents around the cockpit. Maybe this was changed from the pics i've seen or maybe not either way it did not dissapoint by not matching up with BRP as I was worried about....
So basically just another raving review of the Knuckleball.
And if anyone is interested in buying a well used Momo Race Air let me know... I'll be selling it as soon as I clean it up a bit.

I had trouble with the MOMO shift **** too-finally got it fixed by:
1) buying some wide vinyl tubing at local home improvement store
2)screwing the tubing onto the top of the shift lever-some soapy water helped. This increased the diameter of the shift lever slightly and gave a place for the **** screws to "bite"
3)Put the **** back on, used the mid-sized screws, tightened them up completely
Now-it stays tight, no rattle and cool to the touch in the summer

Congrats. I too have the Kartboy shifter/bushing/**** combo on my GC8. It gets SOOO hot in the summer you almost can't touch it. But it was totaly worth it. The only problem I had was a little vibration noise. They say not to overtighten the bolt on the shifter but to get rid of the noise I had to tighten it pretty darn good. It is also hard to put in first gear sometimes but still the best setup out ther in my opinion.
