Morrettes or JDM STI look headlights

I currently have black Morrettes on my silver WRX. But, now I want to have the JDM STI bugeye look instead. Are these better? Should I convert?

i personally think the sti headlights look a LOT better. (actually, i cant stand the morrettes. but thats just my personal opinion). i would guess that the morrettes have better light output though. my edms sti headlights with the stock bulbs output was pretty disappointing. nothing an hid kit didnt fix tho

The issue of looks aside, the Morettes do have better light output. They use H7 bulbs for low beam while the JDM/EDM lights use H1. The H7 setup is more efficient and produces more light.
And of course there is the matter of the JDM lights being RHD, although the EDMs are LHD.
Why not paint your Morettes silver so they at least match your car?

same sentiments as above...morettes are ugly.

HOWEVER, i'd rather go with morettes than the JDM projectors due to the RHD factor of the JDM lights. if you can spare another $200, get EDM projectors and be done with it.

Thanks, I'd have to look into the JDMs or EDMs. I've also heard that you can convert the JDMs RHD beam to LHD. Wondering what it takes to do this. Anybody know what the labor would be on these?

you have to shave some sort of plate/cover to get the "flat" cutoff. i personally don't know of too many peoplel attempting this.

if i were to do it again, i would highly consider retrofitting Audi/MB projectors into the JDM housing. someone did it here on i-club. i want to pick up a set of JDM projectors to experiment with, but i lack the time to.

Who would you recommend in the bayarea that specializes in installing either the JDM or EDM?

they fit right in. you could do it yourself in 10 minutes if you have a correct harness.
