Market for carbon fiber body parts?

I'm thinking about making some and the idea of a company crossed my mind. So I wanted to know what you guys think. I'm talking about hoods, trunk lids, front fenders and maybe doors. I bet you could loose upwards of 200-300 ponds of wait. With so much wait gone it would total change the felling of even a stock impreza of any vitage.

So tell me what do you think.

that would be sweet, if they were good pieces and looked professional.

some time making the pieces can be labor intensive so what kinda prices do you think would be competitive.

I think there is a lot of money to be made from carbon fiber industries. This is due to the increase of tuning, and import motorsports. I don't think this is a trend thing becuase the prices are dropping and the procedures are getting simpliar. As far as prices go I am not very sure. I think everyone is expecting to pay a fairly high price for C/F anything, so if you could find a way to sell cheap, your rolling in the dough!

$500 seems reasonable for doors, 200 is good for hood, front fenders maybe $500 or a little less.
But what I'm really interested in is seeing a carbon fiber wagon hatch! The problem with that is installing the window which would be a real pain...perhaps sell it with the window already mounted or with a plastic window?

the doors and wagon hatch would be more than 500. The only reason is those components have alot of 90 degree angles on the inside. It is very do able, but 650-800 would be a little better I think.

What do you guys think about kevlar instead of carbon it's cheaper and littler lighter but not buy much.

Kevlar seems kinda "jump on the bandwagon trendy" as opposed to the true weight saving nature of CF. Then again, that's just my 2 cents. I say Kevlar should stay in vests and high-end speaker cones

I myself wouldn't mind going for a hood and a trunk; and if I were uber rich and unafraid of collisions, I'd give a nut for a CF widebody kit >=D

you know a c/f or kevlar fenderkit might hold up a little better to small collisions.
