I just mounted my replica 22b wing on my 03 WRX and I'll be damned if it doesn't feel like I have better acceleration at high speeds. Once I'm up around 65+ my acceleration seems to be significantly more powerful. Now is it just my imagination or is it possible that the downforce created by the wing is actually producing better traction and/or better aerodynamics which in turn is creating better acceleration?

I was hoping I would notice slightly better handling but better acceleration?

 

my guess would be immagination. just like when i painted my calipers, it made me brake better.

Perhaps the higher stability is leading you to believe that you're accelerating faster?

My mom has my 02 wagon now that i got an STi, and while the STi most definately accelerates better, the added stability of the wing makes me feel more confident, and the car does feel faster, even during break-in.

Seraph, maybe it is stability. My wing is very similar to the STI stock wing. It's hard to tell. Maybe I should go run some tests with and without the wing.
