They're just cleared out. The amber pieces are all clear, which you can get by just doing the headlight mod and taking all the amber pieces out. However if you are a JDM purist, other people will be able to tell because the JDM lights have plastic pieces in clear, but the headlight mod to get that look requires removal of said pieces. Other than that there is no difference.
