Have you tried refurbishing your headlights to make the bulbs more effective?

Ah, I thought you had some sort of actual HID kit for your Legacy, nevermind.
You should clean the lenses, which is what I think DLC is referring to.

Definitely clean the lenses, it can make a huge difference.

There's a procedure where you use some fine sandpaper and a clearcoat to make it last. I'm glad to see that cleaning them helped out.

And get rid of those crappy bluish lights. Get yourself a pair of Sylvania Xtravisions. Much much better bulb in my, and many others, experience.
