Question I cant decide. Headlight question

I'm looking into changing my headlights on my 03 wrx WRB

should I:
get the STI projector (black housing) non hid lights
or the Morettes
or paint my stocks w/ black housing?

if anyone knows pro's and con's about any of these lights please help.

also please let me know witch one you think looks the best.

you'd save a lot of money painting them yourself. Personally, i think the STi projectors are the best looking.

I would paint them myself but I don't trust my self and I know that I will either melt my lights in the oven or not seal them properly and moisture will get in.
Thank you for your opinion.

please more suggestions ppl.

Well if you don't want to do it yourself the STi's would probably be less expensive.

Haven't heard that about the Morettes, could be true but I haven't seen it mentioned by any vendors.
The Morettes are the best choice for lighting performance since they use H7-based low beams, which are more effective than the H1 low beams in the STi lights (both JDM and EDM versions).
I also got my Morettes from Z1.

I have the STi HID lights and I absolutly love them. I buy most of my V7 stuff from StevieD at http://www.jdmpartstx.com. They are great guys and will negotiate. I don't know about the lighting pattern of the Morettes since I have never been in/near a car with them and i'm glad for it. I can't stand those lights, IMHO. The STi's are clean and look a hell of a lot better than the USDM Bugeyes. I have the flat black and they look good. From what i've heard the black chrome look amazing, but I have no experience with them. You can take a look at my website http://www.toddlampone.com/pictures/car/headlights.JPG

Enjoy.

Thanks for the info. Do the STI's and Morettes come with everything you need? ie: bulbs, plug and play etc?

i'm leaning more twards the STI's

wrxtasy555: you mentioned something about black chrome and flat black? do the sti's come in either black chrome or flat black?

Thanks

The STi's come with the flat black but the Black Chrome are supposed to be a limited edition option. None of that would matter since none of the 02's or 03's came with anything but what you got stock. It's pretty much a matter of what you can get and at what price. Also bare in mind that there are EDM and JDM versions. The EDM's are from Europe and are left-hand drive (just like US). The JDM's are right hand drive. Basicially what that means is that the light pattern with be aimed at the opposite side (left hand drive the light will shine toward the right). There is plenty of talk on the boards about switching the beam pattern (mostly because the JDM's are a whole lot cheaper than the EDM's). I personally have the JDM's and went through the conversion as per scoobymods.com's instructions. As for bulbs it depends on whether you get the HID of the halogen projectors. I am assuming you are going to upgrade to the HID. Bulbs will be whatever the headlights need. The HID bulbs abd ballasts are readily available on eBay (although they will most likely not be the OEM, unless you are lucky enough to find them, I used as set of Hellas). Steve at http://www.jdmpartstx.com sells them all the time and most come with bulbs and ballasts already. I use a harness that clicks right into the stock harness. No fuss, no muss. I can't remeber where I got it from but do a search on here and you'll come up with it. It was list http://www.cb-p.com (that is not it but it is something close). They also sell the EDM's new, but they are costly.

I also have these morrettes with the hella 6000k HID kit. They shine really nice, but unfortunately they will be going soon. I just ordered a pair of JDMs from Gruppe-S.

Voyager2000,

Did you paint your morrettes to match your car or did you leave it black?

Black Morettes on WRB Wagon

I love the look of the Morette's but changing headlights can be a pain. Had to change the parking lights and it required removal of the grille, and headlights to do it.....Took about 15 minutes each light. Just be careful when tightening down the bolts again, seems easy to break.
