Question "How to" (trunk swap)?

has anyone done a trunk swap? (from an STi to a wrx?)
i was just wondering if you guys have a step by step instruction on this. Particularly on the lock cylinders.
If you could give me some hints and advice that would be give me a lot of help.
thanks!

Open the trunk.

Remove the inside escape handle assembly. The locking cylinder will be behind it.

The locking cylinder has a clip in it, IIRC. The guy I swapped with did the work on this, but I watched. Just use a flat screwdriver & pry it off. Careful, 'cause when it gives it'll fly around & end up inside the trunk lid, causing you 5 more minutes of hassle!

After the lock is off, disconnect the brake light electrical harness. If you have an '02/'03 with wing light, don't worry...the harness is exactly the same.

Remove the 4 bolts holding the trunk on the arms. Remove trunk, & swap!

We didn't change the springs out when I did my swap. The result, my '02 trunk doesn't pop up anymore, but it will still release from inside the car. On the STi I traded with, however, if he releases from inside the cabin, the trunk will fly up really fast!

Hope this helps ya.

Im pretty sure they are the same blue but one might be more faded than the other because there is a 2 year difference.
