how to take out silver plastic bar next to cupholder?
i wanted to move my turbo timer and boost controller below the AC vent where the cup holder and that silver bar is located. i unscrewed the cup holder out and i could only get half of the ac vent out on the cupholder side. how would i take out that silver bar next to the cup holder. it looks like it is a part of that vent molding.
1. will i have to just cut the silver bar out?
2. i am guess this is a good place to put my turbo timer and boost controller but will the ac vents on top condense water?
3. is there a aftermarket bracket that i can buy?

I've seen it done several times. As I recall you do indeed have to cut into the plastic piece you are referring to. Try searching scoobymods.com, I recall seeing a few different variations on there.
1. yes - the part you are referring to, along with everything which surrounds those two vents, is a single piece - you need to cut.
2. shouldn't be a problem
3. I have never seen one - people mount turbo timers all over the place, though - the ash tray and change pocket are two other popular locations.

Did you know that that silver piece next to the cup holder is for transit passes in Japan? On the highways, toll passes often have lanes with a scanner that scans a card that's held in this silver piece in order to collect tolls. It's like FasTrak here in the States, but mo' bettah
Anyway, back to your question: I've seen several people place a turbo timer here, and indeed you DO need to cut into this piece. I haven't heard of any condensation issues from the AC though...
Like Huck said, try www.scoobymods.com -- they might have instructions there for this project.
