How to Strip Clear off Carbon Fiber?

I need to remove the clear coat that I sprayed onto my trunk so I can get the trunk lid re-cleared tomorrow.

I was told that Acetone would work to get the clear coat off. I've heard different things about the effect of acetone on the carbon fiber, but from what I understand as long as I don't soak the trunk in carbon fiber ( :/ ) then the carbon fiber can't be damaged.

I dont really care how the trunk looks, its not going to be shiny regardless once I strip the clear coat off. as long as it doesn't damage the epoxy resin, That would be just fine.

I was suggested by a paint guy to wetsand it with 800 grit sand paper, but that would take forever, imo is a terrible idea.

Can I use Acetone or is that bad and i should use something else?
