Does anyone know how to repair the holes on the trunk from the GT Style wing that mounts directly on the center of the trunk? A friend of mine said that I probably need to go to a body repair shop to have holes filled with some special material and then repaint it. Any comments? Thanks.

I believe the auto shop will jsut put some kind of plate behind the holes and fill them with a Bondo type material ( i love bondo...) then sand finish and paint...

usually they cut out a small disk out of sheet metal and apply it from the bottom, and spot weld from the top. After they do that they fill it in with bondo to cover the low spots. I'm taking mine to the body shop, I'm not that good at auto body stuff

You have to weld the holes shut. Just using bondo will not work, because the bondo will crack and pop out with use of the trunk. You need to weld patches to the underside of the trunk lid first.
If you have a body shop do this it will be pretty pricy. Expect to pay at least $400 for welding and paint.

I am having the holes fixed in a Berkeley shop right now. I got 8 holes (like 1/4 or 3/8 inch each). It's not the best gt wing out there and the original installer didn't do a best job. Anyway, I worked with this shop before so I tried to negotiate the best price possible. They initially asked for $450 plus tax because there are 8 "big" holes. We ended up with $400 including tax for cash. It takes them about 2.5 to 3 days to do a good job.
