Got owned, need advice plz

I'm sure this has happened to a bunch of you guys too so I need your advice. I was eating late at the Sunnyvale In N Out burger and my foglight covers got jacked. I've heard of this happen to many people because it's so easy to take them off but you never think these kinds of things will happen to you.

So my question is this: what do you guys do to keep a hold of your sti foglight covers?

Out here in the Northeast, we got "paranoia" for a deterrent, works everytime. Not that i'm saying you should do it too but it can only help.

hmm how about don't go out late with your car in the bay area. believe it or not i have list of places i will not go to just because its almost natural to get your car jacked there. one of them being Dole Cannery Theaters here in Honolulu. They have security and paid/controlled parking but it seems like cars just walk away from that place. I personally believe the security guards are in on it.

You could also try installing a radar with your alarm but that would be hard to adjust to someone just walking by vs. someone actually trying to steal something. Honestly there is no real method of protecting your car if a thief wants it he will get it

Good luck
Jess

When i had mine I considered takeing some jb weld and sticking a metal ring to the back of them. then just running a zip tie through it to something else.

I am paranoid as hell of my jdm fogs getting jacked but out here where I am...if anyone local did it and just used them....I'd see it and there'd be hell to pay. There is not a single other car I've seen out here with them. not one. Because of my paranoia I like to park where I can see my car any time I want.

How do you mount the fogs on the '04? Since with the single screw that you use on the '02 fog covers, you can buy a screw that's needs a key.

It's a screw with a head similar to a nail, but it has 2 dots in it that require a key so it can turn. However, I don't know if you can do this with the '04s. Also, another thing you can do if you don't plan to take off the fog covers if they use screws, is to get hot glue and fill in the screw head with the glue. Whenever you need to take it off, just get the hot glue gun hot and melt it off.

the 04/05 fog covers just slip in and out. 3 prongs. you can literally pop them off both sides in 10 seconds or almost instantly if you do it with two people. it's probably the easiest part to steal off of any car ever made. Annoying. I ran a set for a while and I'd literally take them off and throw them in the car if I didn't feel right........union city movie theatre...stuff like that.

I'll consider that. Does anyone else have any other tips or methods?

a lot of times all you have to do is slow someone down a second and they won't do it.

It is really easy to take them off, i could do it only with my hands and each one would probably take 2 seconds.
