how to clean a cf hood??
hey, just got a cf hood, tried waxing it, and it just left a nasty residue

The hood is just epoxy resin (unless its been clear coated), if your having problems with your finish you can always wet sand it and progressively going from some 800 grit all the way to polishing compound. Fiberglass resins can be "finished" just like automotive paints. Or you could have it cleared...

y, thought about that..
but honestly, it needs a new clear coat..
the clear coat has cracked in some spots..
so im just looking for a quick fix for now until i get the money to reclear it

Why not? I didn't say that you had to purchase his CF restoration service. I am sure if you dropped him a PM, letting him know the details of your CF hood, he can help you troubleshoot what needs to be done in order to make it look nicer.
clay bar, polish with a buffer it will take off all the oxidation... that will last u a few months.. or u can clay bar, polish with a buffer then reclear coat it then youll be good.
