USDM uses 9007 bulbs, JDM/EDM uses 9005 and H1, so an adapter harness must be made. There's two ways to do it, with a 3 wire harness and splitting the common ground using a vampire tap, or my way, using 4 wires, with 2 wires for each of the 9005 and the H1. My solution is weatherproof (I have access to a salt spray chamber) and built to order - for JDM/EDM, for JDM HID, for 2004 HID.... and levelling harnesses for EDM/JDM HID and STi Headlamps..

I'm awaiting a box held up in customs, but short answer is YES.

9007 to JDM GRAY HID plug and 9005 is 75USD shipped to your door. I'm in Canada, USD has dropped 25 percent in the past 6 months.

Bug me next week - I'm hoping customs is nice to me... I need those parts to make those harnesses. I'm the only one outside of Japan with stock on these parts == H1 plugs, HID plugs, levelling harness bits...

HID harnesses

There's 3 types I build...
2002 Bugeye 9007 to gray HID (with a | between the two terminals) and 9005
2003 Bugeye 9007 to black HID (with a T between the two terminals) and 9005
2004 gray H1 to black HID (with a T between the two terminals).

Let me know what you want.

Just a question for you guys, do your Hids shut-off on your JDM HIDS when your turn the brights on?? Mine turn off meaning the HIDS turn off when the brights turn on and so forth.

On most cars the HIDS stay on all of the time.

Super

Hey Wagons HO your leveling harness is awesome!!

HIDs turn off

You've obvioulsy done something incorrectly in your wiring.

My harnesses don't do that... HIDs all the time!

Thanks for the kind words on the levellers - it took about 8 months and several thousand dollars (and a lot of big boxes by FE) to do it right.....

Hey Wagons,

I just looked on jdmpartstx.com and there hids go off when the high beams are turned on. I believe that is the way that I have my car wired up. I did not cut my stock harnes like they did though. I took 2 9007 plugs apart and soldered all of the wires up.

One more thing is that my ballasts did not have an external ground that you could hook up to the chassis?... if you want I can take some pics.

Thanks for all of the help !!

Super
