HID's for 03' WRX
So I'm looking at getting some HID's for my car and I'm looking at the ratings which are 4,300K, 8,000K, 10,000K, 12,000k. I was told that BWM headlights are around 4300k so I'm guessing I should not go anything stronger than 8,000??
Just wanted to ask if anyone has some and what they went with.
My other question was that will these create too much heat to the point that I will have to replace the lenses on my lights or will they be ok?
BTW.. Merry Christmas!

the higher the K doesn't mean it's stronger,
it just means it's more blue/purple
if you are going for visibility, go 4300K, if you wanna go for show, 6000K should do the job.
Don't try 8000K, it's probably too blue, and you won't be able to see in rain.
and if you don't have the JDM/EDM housing, remember to get D2R bulbs. not D2S.

Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it. Looks like I'm gonna go with the 6,000K.
I'll post some pics once I put them in if anyone is interested.

So a question for anyone that might know the answer. I got the 6,000k HIDS that come with the ballast and all.
The directions are ****ty and they didn't come with any harness or anything so I just did the wiring my self. The question I have is and I don't know if anyone can even answer this is can HID's handle high beam? I had them all hooked up and when turned on they run just dandy but when I flip to high beam I blow the fuse in the car. Now I could just upgrade the fuse but I also wonder if the bulbs can handle it?
The ballasts have this info on them:
Vnorm: 13.2V
lnorm: 3.2A
Pout: 35W
The bulbs are also 35W
I don't have anymore info on the kit I got so If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate an answer.

if he has a 03 wrx, the d2r bulbs won't fit. those lights are 9007's. and everyone knows(i've tried this) that the hid bulb in the stock headlight will not be that great. i found a pic on the net of what it looks like.
and unless you bought a bixenon, you don't have highbeams anymore. by the way, what kind of headlights do you have?

I have the stock headlights and the kit I got fits really well into the stock housing.
I honestly don't know if they are bixenon but was told that high beams would work.
Its just that when I flip my hibeams on I blow the fuses so I'm running a relay so that doesn't happen. So once I do that and my high beams still don't work then I guess they are not bixenon bulbs but they are already bright enough as it is so I'm happy.
Just can't wait to get after market lights so then the pattern wont be so dispersed and it will look better.
