Has the WRB color changed since it debuted in the U.S.? (was: Paint question - WRB)

I think there is but not sure. I just got an 06 WRB STI and I saw an older WRB WRX and I thought the color looked different, but again I am not 100%. Could have been the lighting.

Nope, same color code from 2002 and up. I am sure that it has faded over time. The older models definitely look less vibrant than the newer models.

I have an MY02 WRB WRX that I purchased in June '01. The blue is very 'fragile'. Basically, to get the bright blue colour, they use white undercoat with a thin metallic blue layer over the top.
Anything which scratches the blue takes it straight through to the white undercoat. All stone/grit impacts leave a white mark. Similarly, where people have touched the car with rings etc. Bird crap also removes the blue if you don't get to it in <30 minutes. My car looks like it has been peppered with white dots, but they are all chips.
IMO, WRB is the prettiest colour, but it very easily damaged. A workmate has a silver WRX which is only 9 months or so newer and his doesn't look anywhere near as bad.
