umm. i don't have em for my rex. but i bought the silverstar 9005 for one of my mom's lexuses. They are really bright. Pure white. sweet stuff. We've had em for 2 years. still haven't burned out. don't touch the bulb and you'll be fine. Also, i'mma tell you now. the light won't be as evenly dispersed as the stock bulbs. they are superbright in some areas.

There are some other companies that make brighter, whiter lights. But they do not carry the same quality as Sylvannia (except for PIAA$$)
Here is a comparison of SS9007 and a brand called 'KÖBA' 9007s. Parking lights are PIAA Extreme Whites 168

The whiter ones are the KÖBAs

does anyone here know anything about hids? What happens if hids do break do u replace a part or the whole thing? Also i saw some hid bulbs. What are those? They only costs around 200. Are those bulbs u use with a hid kit or just bulbs you can use alone?

Hid's are 3 times as bright as halogens. Most halogens lowbeams register 750-1000 lumens, while hids will be close to 3000. As the color goes up above 5k, the lumens decrease.
Hid requires a ballast and a capsule. The hid technology is similar to flourescent lights. The ballast bumps your voltage to 35k or so, and that is sent to the capsule. Hid's consume 35 watts, instead of 55 for standard low beams.
As far as breaking parts it depends on where you got them from. The better ballast are made by phillips. The ballasts rarely have problems. Now the hid capsules can break like a normal bulb. This is were most people have problems. And that is very expensive if you destroy one accidentally.
I had hid's on my integra for 2 years. And did a lot of research before purchasing, so I may be able to answer any other questions you have. That setup you posted seems to have a fair amount of glare. Normally when judging an hid kit you want to see a pic of the kit facing a wall, to determine if the positioning of the capsule withing the headlight housing is good. The light cutoff should look stock.

From what I've heard, all aftermarket HID applications are illegal now. Only stocks are legal -- curse those Benzes, Bimmers, and Audis
There's a model of Phillips that's pretty good I've read on one of the threads here, try searching for it. Good luck!
