Gauges?

hey guys...long time reader, but haven't really posted. I was wondering if there is a suggested brand for gauges, as I want decent ones before I start modding. What do you have, as I know most of your cars are far from stock. I plan on getting at least EGT and boost. Any suggestions for a third? Oh I have a MY05 WRX sedan. Thanks for the help.

As I have an '05 STi, I was leaning towards the matching Defi gages...'til I saw the price!
Now, I'm looking at the dual reading aircraft gages made by Westach; twice as much info for half the price.
Scott has (I believe) Autometer gages installed on the A pillar & they look good.

I guess it comes down to how much $$ you wanna spend.

I have GReddy Boost, EGT, and oil P in my STi. I had these gauges in my WRX as well. They have worked well and are moderately priced. Probably on par with Omori.

The thing to look for is gauges that read out in a unit that you can easily read. Some gauges will be US standard (psi, deg. F, etc.), some will be in metric (kg/cm2, deg. C, etc.) and some may throw in kPa or bar. Also look out for the color when they light up. You may want them to match the rest of your interior or you may be looking for a certain look.

Boost and EGT are a definite must. Oil P is good, but if you plan on racing, oil temp would be more useful. I also have a digital Fuel Pressure gauge which I recommend for anyone that is modded and running more boost than stock.

But in the end as Paul said it comes down to $.

Another great option is the PSI3 SECCS unit which ties into your ECU via the OBDII port and reads and displays many of the parameters the ECU is seeing in real time. It's about the same $ as 3 gauges, but will display over 14 parameters, as well as record peaks for several of them and display warnings for things like over boost, over coolant temp, etc. It can be mounted in the clock pod or in the dash.

http://www.psi3.co.uk

Quantum Racing sells them: http://www.quantum-racing.com

and Mastro carries an ECUtek version that will do everything above plus user tuning if you have an ECUtek reflash on your ECU.

I hav the Defi BF/ amber gauges in a 04' STi cost lots of money and would say you have quite a few options just make sure when looking a EGT gauges you get on the reads to 2000 degrees

oil temp or oil pressure would be good as a third but really comes down to witch one you want

+1 for Defi BF. Mostly for the bling factor. I still have my old pair, waiting for a SR swap to install 'em

thanks for the info guys. I'd like to "keep the money in the community" so does SS have gauges or is online the best way to go?

I have a set of Defi Link V2s, black face (not to be confused with BF). Basically, they're the only thing I have that I'm not considering selling.
