Gas guage stuck ?

I can't run my car on cause its not ready to be but I noticed the guage is on 3/4 of a tank . Is it suppose to stay their or should it return to the bottom like all other cars ? Bad sensor ?? 02 impreza wrx sedan

its like that. my gauge cluster is unplugged and it stays at 1/2 tank but if plugged in, once it receives voltage it will adjust to the proper level. Of course this is for a wrx cluster though if you have an sti cluster its a whole other story

It stays static, and does not go down like other vehicles.

U haveto check fuel level sensors. Make sure which 1 is the defect 1. I had exactly the same issue last week and replaced the fuel level sensor on the driver side. Its working fine now.
