Gas Gauge

So my gas gauge seems to be malfunctioning. The last few times at the pump, my gas gauge has been reading at 3/4 full when I fill up full tank. The needle refuses to reach FULL. I'm suppose to bringing it in tomorrow to capitol suby and have it looked at, but I would like to know if anyone dealt with this issue.

Fuel pump? do you get a CEL? try pulling the codes from the ECU there might be bad sensors in the tank

its the fuel pump assembly

it has the fuel level sender

subaru doesnt sell just teh level sender or just the pump

i dont want to recomend you fix the float and sensor strip yourself

but it can be done

the old school method is take a pencil eraser and clean up the contacts on the level sender slide thing

or if the arm is binding fix it

the bad news is to do this you ahve to have a full tank of gas

it gets uber messy and stinks your car up

this is a perfect picture

the pump is at the bottom of the picture
in the housing
black rubber with the clamp on it

the float is orange

the arm is the wire

and the black with the silver strip is the problem you have probably
