fiberglass body kits?

Hey guys,

I am doing some research on bodykits, due to me looking to purchase a front and rear lip soon, but wanted to get some input on reliability, looks and any other info that would persuade me about kits made out of fiberglass. I read on gruppe-s website that fiberglass kits may have spidercracks because of removal from the mold...how sturdy is fiberglass compared to urethane or frp? info wise, i am looking to purchase a syms front lip...rallysportdirect sells a fiberglass replica at $200 compared to the actual Syms made of urethane that sells for $500...i know the price difference is due to actual vs. replica product but what about the material that the lip is made of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Daniel

Well, polyurethane will bend and bounce back while fiberglass will break to pieces. If there are a lot of pot holes in your area it would be best to get polyurethane. Pay the extra cash.

DO NOT get fiberglass! It'll shatter into a gazillion (!) pieces if you collide it against anything. Stick will polyurethane, it's much more resilient and will rebound from impacts (only the paint gets jacked).
