EGT vs Oil/Temp Gauges?
Hi. I was wondering what are the differences between EGT (Engine Exhaust Gas Temperature) and oil/temperature gauges. Don't they both keep you informed of hazardous conditions of your engine temperature? I'm thinking of getting one or the other or even both, depending on their functions, which I'm confused about (would it be redundant to get both?). Why might it be better to get one over the other if it is redundant to get both.
Thanks,
Tim

i dont know much, but i think a lower egt meant more efficient boost response, more efficient exhaust flow, stuff like that. Also if your egt's approach the melting point of exhaust components you may have yourself one hell of a problem if not fixed. EGT, Boost, and Air/fuel are good guages to get.
I would also like to know more cuz pretty soon im installing boost and egt guages.
