Best three first gauges.

I'm new here and I have done some research but most people are saying different things. I am looking into the Defi BF-R series gauges cuz they look so sweet haha. I am going to hopefully get the package with three gauges and the pod. What do you guys think would be the best 3 first gauges to get?

Depends on what kind of car you have.

I am going to assume you have a wrx or sti, so with that...

The two most basic is boost and egt. for the third you have some flexibility on what you would prefer to keep track of. This depends on the type of driving you do or what type of mods you want to do down the road. Your top options are fuel pressure, oil pressure, and oil temperature.

If you are looking to do some serious mods and stuff with the turbo and whatnot, then I would probably lean towards fuel pressure. This will allow you to make sure you are getting enough fuel to mix with all the extra air. If you don't plan on going crazy and leaving it stock or doing mild mods and like to go out to the road course a lot and/or do a lot of hard driving for extended periods of time, then I would go with oil temperature. This will allow you to monitor the general temperature of the engine, (much more accurate and important than the water temp gauge on your cluster). For me I was always concerned with oil pressure. Reason being is that if you lose oil pressure, very bad things will happen if you continue to drive, plus very bad things have already happened. It is a good safety gauge on the car

All of this stuff is just my opinion and the way I see it. Others might differ in opinion. I just say go with what you think fits your needs the most.

Or do you think A/F or Fuel pressure? It could be a bit before i scrounge up the cash for all of the supporting mods for the turbo.

A/F gauges are worthless, they aren't accurate enough to tell you anything

yeah A/F isn't worth it. Plus with an EGT gauge, you can get an idea of what your a/f mixture is based off the temps.

+1, just be sure you get baseline on a dyno w/ a wideband
