Anyone know if stock WRX fog lights directly work in STi without modification?

I recently sold my stock wrx 04 fog lights to someone with a STi. The buyer said he plugged the fog lights in, and also the switch into the stock harness'. Still, the fog lights wouldnt turn on, but the green light would light up on the fog light switch. Any one have experience with installing stock fogs on a STi... maybe a fuse is needed, or some wire tapping?

Thanks for any help guys.

The part numbers for the accessory are the same throughout the Impreza line for the model years of 2004-05. As far as the wiring diagrams, I would presume that since the accessory is the same, that it plugs into the same wiring harness. I'd check the bulbs, which sometimes in transit will break the filaments, which would be the reason they don't light up.

Did this guy try them with the lights in all positions? Turn the high beams on, etc., and find out if in any position the lights do come on. Maybe he plugged the wiring harness in wrong (not easily done, but possible), and the polarity is reversed somehow.

They work, he's missing the fog light relay that plugs in behind the fuse panel.

It is not the fog button. It's an actual relay, and it plugs in like a fuse. It's about $25 bucks +/-5

It's still there, and it's a bit hard to get out.

The relay is plugged in behind the lower dash/kick panel on the driver's side. I think you may be able to find a diagram on scoobymods.com.

2nd from top.

EDIT again: It's number 4 in your picture below. Here's a thread with another pic from Nabisco. I couldn't find a good picture on Scoobymods. I know there is one since that's the site I used it from.
