I am looking for some aluminum dash/center console inserts, anyone know where I can find em?

I suppose I should specify, it is for a 99RS. Center console area. I found a few vendors online, but I have no clue as to which one would rip me off.

 

don't bother.. it's all stick-on crap. I had an alluminum trim-kit and it was worthless and cheap looking. I liked it at first, but a month later I tore it off and painted my interior. It looks 10x better and professional looking.

 

Wow, that's exactly how I was wanting it to look. I was hoping for brushed aluminum, but I think that looks better and more practical. Thanks.

i am having a hell of time getting my refund for a defective
part. also, their cutouts all incorrect on the door handles,
shifter console, etc and dash console.

 

I was kinda looking for Aluminum in place of the plastic that is already there, or plastic that looks like Aluminum. I think I may go with the paint solution for now.

 

I don't believe such a thing exists. Subaru makes a CF trim kit that's actual dash pieces, not stick on, but I'm pretty sure thats it.

 

i forget the name of the company but there's a company that markets these modeling paints that very closely replicate metal finishes. i think one of them was brushed aluminum. i've seen a model b-29 painted in aluminum and it really does look like metal. try a search of the forums. sorry couldn't be more helpful but at least this is an option.

Subaru of Japan has replacement pieces for the GDAs in Blue, Silver, and Red.

I tried searching the SOJ website but I had difficulty finding much of anything besides pics of a WRX Sti Type C or something, If you had a more direct link that would be great

 

Kinda thought that wheel came from a US WRX but wasn't sure, I take it that the two are interchangable then

 

its my 99rs. Just rip your dash out and mask the stuff you don't want painted (vents etc), sand lightly, and paint away. I guess it could be a PITA if you haven't taken apart your dash before, but thats it. Painting just takes practice really, smooth strokes back and forth at a reasonable distance usually yields a smooth looking coat. Theres some imperfections in mine but most are hard to see and overall it looks good. got the primer, paint, and clearcoat from www.paintscratch.com
