Air Bag Warning Light at WOT

I just purchased a 2002 WRX and at full throttle the air bag light flickers on and off. Anyone else hear or run into this problem? I am guessing it's related to a voltage issue. Comments/facts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Dave

I'm thinking it's probably a loose ground. I'll just make sure I don't crash when I'm accelerating hard...j/k

i say dealer... if there is ever a problem with safteey equipment, or smog, they are required by law to fix it, usually under warranty.

Yup, remember it's possibly a safety issue.

Taking it to the dealer is your best bet. Your warranty should cover it too.

Hmmm...wonder if the 60,000 powertrain warranty covers it? It's way over (58,000) the 30,000 unlimited.

Thanks for all comments.

Arrow

What is considered WOT?
Is it when the gas pedal is pushed ALL the way to the floor or just when your RPM's go to 6k-7k?

Thanks,
-Nigel

WOT = throttle fully open, independant of engine speed.

I'm taking it to the dealer today. I will post outcome.

They agreed it is covered under warranty because of it being safety related.
