Im wondering if the 06 WRX headunit will support HID well (gives a normal beam patterm, non-blinding). Since the 06 comes with projector, im assuming it'll work without any retrofit. I know how anoyying it is when people put HID into headlights that arent design for them.

Well it should give better results than the earlier reflector lights, however the light performance will still not be optimum. The projectors are designed for use with halogens and are not the same internally as those designed for HIDs such as on the new STI. Since the beam cutoff in projectors is set by the internal deflection plates it will be the same with HIDs as long as the bulb alignment is correct but there may still be some hot spots in the beam.
So although it may not be quite as critical as with the 04-05's, your best bet would be to get a set of the STI HID projectors and completely replace your lights with those.

Ok, didn't notice you were in Canada. Well you could get a set of US STI lights but I suppose that would be rather expensive with the shipping and all. Another consideration for Canada is that you are required to have DRLs, and the HIDs would not work in DRL mode. They are either on full brightness or off so you'd have to run them all the time. Connecting HIDs to the DRL circuit will cause problems with both the HIDs and DRL system.
