was thinking about converting the front end of an 06 STi to the front end of the 05'. I heard since the dimensions are the same that it shouldn't be that hard - all i would have to do is buy:


2 front fenders

bumper & grill

headlamp fittings

hood.

what do you guys think, is it possible?

I think this is possible. I saw an article in Impreza Magazine (JDM mag) about a shop in japan that converted an 05 to an 06. So, the reverse should be possible as well.

 

I was looking into an 04 to an 02/03 a lil while back.

 

only way to find out is to try it

take the side panel and bumper and match it up!

 

i would be real intrested to see this, i want 06 lights on my 05... no sloppy doppy 3rd midpeice though

 

maybe we should trade then and save some money

 

very possible indeed. although it'll be pricey to get new parts. i've heard you can go to your local subaru collision repair centre and order the parts you want and basically, its unbolt and bolt on from there. plus you'll be able to sell your '06 to someone who wants to do a 05 to 06 conversion. then again, you might aswell find that person and swap parts with them.
