'04 WRX Seats in '01 2.5rs???

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone know whether or not the '04 WRX seats will directly bolt into my '01 2.5rs. I know the '02 and '03 seats will but i've never seen anyone swap in the '04 WRX seats in aside from V7 and V8 STI seats. Let me know.

Brandon

I have 04 wrx seats in my 99 OBS, so it'll definently work. You'll probably have to change out the buckles from your old seats to the 04 seats which will require a little work (prety easy) but they'll bolt right in. Back seats don't fit though, they are the wrong size. Look on rs25.com and you can find info on swapping the rear seat if u want to.

Make sure u get the plastic covers for the back part of the seat to cover up the metal mounting bracket cuz its different size/shape and the old one won't fit, or you can just go without it (thats what I'm doing)

Hope that helped. I just did mine, so if you have problems/questions I could probably help u with them, just let me know!

Good Luck

thanks. I think i'm going to settle for 02/03 wrx seats instead purely because they're cheaper and more readily available.

^^^ some people say they are more comfortable too, and (if you go up to the snow) I believe you can find them w/ heatwarmers fairly easy (tho I'm not sure on this) I don't like the look as much though, and, to me, they're less comfortable and less supportive. GL and enjoy!

they're kinda different. you should sit in each and see which is more comfortable (though its hard to tell untill you sit in them for over an hour. but IMO, yes

how much did u get the front and rear seats for? Do you still have the rears? I think maybe the rears didn't fit in ur car because you have a wagon...i have a coupe so maybe it'll fit better....might be interested in selling the rear to me?

I got them both for ~400 I'll sell u the rear, but its made for a wagon, so its supposedly different from the sedans back which is what ppl have succesfully swapped into their 2.5 RS'. From what I've read (and seen) you can get them to fit, but they use different mounting points and are different shapes. If you want, i can give u the link to a forum about it.
