i have an 04 wrx , cluster is illuminated green with red needles. is a 04/05 sti cluster plug and play? i want my cluster all red and from what ive seen the sti is illuminaed that way.

also the head unit for the ac/heater controls is that plug and play and is it illuminated red? havnt seen any pics of that.

any info or links would be hot.

 

I know that the cluster is plug and play, and I know that the radio is as well, but Im not sure if the radio is illuminated red or not, although changing the color of the radio illumination is probably one of the easiest mods Ive ever done to my car, so you could do that with no problem.

only an 04 sti cluster will plug and play in your 04 wrx. you'll have to shave the left cluster plug in your car to make an 05 cluster fit. If you were to go that route, you'd have to rewire the harness also, because the 05 cluster will have the e-brake light and abs light on all the time, not to mention the light dimming wheel won't work either. oh and the shift buzzer will keep buzzing so you'll need to pull it out. lots of work for the 05 cluster in an 04.

 

What about for an 04 2.5rs??

 

hmm...i can't give you a definitive answer on that cause i've never seen an 04 rs cluster...but i'd assume it would work. i've only actually had hands-on experience with 04 wrx and sti as far as clusters go. can someone chime in on this?
