well, my 03 wrx has one foglight glass piece broken from a rock or something. the light bulb itself still works, but the glass covering the bulb has shattered to bits.

where can i buy just the glass cover piece for cheap? figured i'd ask here before i go to the dealer. thanks a lot guys.

 

The glass is not available separately, you have to buy the entire fog light. However you should not go to the dealer for this, they charge way too much for the fog lights- about $160 each.
Check the Private Classifieds here and at NASIOC, there are always used ones for sale in good condition, either single or sets. Going price is usually around $50 each/ $100 set.
Also, to prevent breakage in the future, you should apply some protective film to the fogs such as Xpel, Stongard, Rockblocker, Lamin-x etc. I have Xpel on mine and it's cheap protection, an uncut 1-sq-ft sheet is $15 and you can cut the pieces out yourself and apply them.
