I decided to do 25% front and 5% rear and smoked the tails. I like the new look it created. Now I just need springs and better rims

Nice. Where did you get your tails done? I need to get mine done.

 

I did the tails myself. Bought a can of VHT shade and taped and prepped everything. It's not to hard to do, just time consuming.

 

Drew, only thing about VHT, It doesn't come off :/ but those tails look really good. You got them painted well!!! How much did you pay for your tints?

 

Sorry to get back to you so late, I spent $350 out the door for Viper tint with a lifetime warranty against fade, bubbles or scratching

 

This is helpful thread regarding tails, I really like it and get a good idea about get to mine tail done. This is easiest and the simplest way. Keep it up buddy...

 

I'm just wondering, have you had any trouble with the cops? Because I thought you had to let 70% of light in in California..?

 

True, in California you have to allow 70% or greater of light through the windows. I have been running them for quite sometime And have not been pulled over. I just recently received a speeding ticket and the officer said nothing about my windows or tail lights. He actually committed that I had a nice Subaru and he has a 2010 STI hatch as his DD. So maybe that's why I got off the hook for the tints an reduced my speed on my ticket to only 5 over instead of 25.

 

Have you heard of anyone recently getting problems with tint? Because I really want to get mine tinted hella dark like that..

 

I haven't really heard anyone get in trouble, but it's always hit and miss dependent on which town you live in and how grumpy the cops in your area are. It's a fix it ticket if the cop has an issue and you just remove it, sign it off and pay a $20 fee and your all done. Then you just put the tint back on! Lmao
