New 2007 WRX Owner

Hey guys just picked up an 07 WRX TR on last Friday. I'm already in love with my new car. I plan on upgrading a lot. Currently its all stock besides some 17" wheels, some tint, and a sound system. A goal would be to reach 300hp, what are the upgrades I should consider in order to hit 300 horpower at like 5500rpms? Make sure to be specific if you could. This is the first sports carnival ever owned. Knew I'd need to join a forum and talk with people to maximize my driving experience with this car.

First question is do you want 300bhp or 300whp?

At the very least, you are looking at:

Full TBE (Downpipe + catback)
fuel injectors
fuel pump
protune

I'd get a bigger turbo too if I had the cash

Do you think I should start with TBE + tune? Also what's a good affordable way I can get my TBE, Used? And what are some exhaust brands I should look into?

I would start out with a tbe and tune first. Check the classifieds for used exhausts. Do you want stock looking or big cannister? Quiet or loud?

Great looking car! Get a full exhaust (TBE) and a Cobb Accessport and flash to the stage2 setting. That alone will turn your car into a different beast, while still being relatively safe!

Is there any way to have a medium sized sound? And I'd prefer a stockish looking canister with a little style to it. Sorry I'm really new to "the car" game guys. Formerly a lifted 4x4 guy. These wrx's are so fast.

Thanks a lot guys. This has helped so much. May I ask one more question... Like I said. Most of my car is completely stock, I want the motor to last me a while. Currently at 73k miles, what rpms should I keep it under in order to keep it running strong? Totally noob question sorry.

do you want longevity of the motor/car? or performance? obviously keeping the rpms under 5k tthe hole life the car will probebly last longer than if you hit 7k everyday.
