I saw a DIY for these over on IWSTI....
anyhow, here's a link to the DIY
and here's a link to the Vendor -- (mods I hope I didn't violate any rules here by posting the link)
Anyway, they were pretty darn cheap and the DIY looked pretty easy since I cleared my headlights before... so I got a few things to prepare and went ahead...
First, I got the Angel eyes and masked off parts of them, exposing basically the 11 o'clock to 3 o'clock portion of (what I decided would be) the passenger side ring and the 9 o'clock to 1 o'clock portion of the driver's side ring
Next I chose some aluminum high temp paint... couldn't find any chrome paint which is what I was really looking for... oh well.
After painting, I followed the install instructions provided by the vendor. Two small addendums - I threaded the wires through a small slit I made in the back of the high beam gasket. I also mistakenly used regular JB Weld, not the JB KWIK weld as recommended in the DIY... my error - definately go with the kwik weld if you can since the cure time for the regular stuff is 6 hours.

oK now onto installed pics...
These things are really really bright - the last pic is the light output as seen from the hood bonnet with my parking lights and halos on ONLY - no other lights on in the garage!
There's a pic with both the halos and the low beams on. I have a WRX, so no HIDs for me... at least not yet.. perhaps at a later date, but for now no.
I don't like the really white Halos next to the sort of yellowish low beams. Just looks funny to me... so what I decided to do was the following -
I did the DRL disable mod as seen on scoobymods.
I plan on running my car always with the parking lights and HALOs on - basically using my HALOs as my DRLs from now on.
I'll reserve the regular low beams for when I really need them.
Also, one other thing in case you're thinking of doing this. when painting the Halos, make sure you put a few coats on them and really cover all the
light that you want to cause you can kind of still see it in mine... not much I can do about it now, but overall I'm actually quite happy with how things turned out.

Sorry they are on in the pics... any advice on how to take pics of these? Maybe during the daytime without the flash on?
awesome, i'd be modding my headlights too, i just heard how its done but not in detail...now that i do, it sounds easy enough
my co-worker was doing projector retrofit on his gen2 integra and it was alot of mess...this sounds easy since iam not custom fitting anything.

just realize that the angel eyes sit slightly slanted within the housing - which is why you need JB Kwik weld to hold it in place. Remember to try not to touch the reflector part too much (unless you're painting the housing too). And don't forget that if you want to do the demon eye look, put on enough paint to make sure that it has enough coverage... BTW, the "chromed" plastic part in the middle where the wires attach can "pop" off, so it's actually better to take that off prior to painting, otherwise you'll get just a touch of light leakage.
I had to go back and repaint part of them (with a toothbrush!!), so now it looks pretty pimpin
The reflection really looks awesome when I'm behind say a shiny black car...

sorry for bringing back an old thread but i got a quick question.
the turn signal bulbs, are they clear or orange?
if clear, can it be switched with the orange bulbs on the corner of the headlight housing or do i need to go get me a orange bulb for the turn signals to work properly without calling out for cops.

My headlights were cleared of the Amber... I put back in a shaved side amber reflector when I did the HALO mod, but the front turn signal amber reflector has been gone for a while. I also took out the amber over the parking lights and put in LEDs so they now match the color (whitish) of the HALOs better.
As far as your FRONT signal lights, the stock plain bulb has a little bit of a yellowish tint to it. In CA as far as I can tell, as long as you don't have any flashing blue or red lights, you're legal. So I just left my turn signal bulbs stock without the amber overlays and I have been fine since. Never had any questions from cops about it. Now, if you want, you can get aftermarket bulbs that will flash amber, but look silver when not lit... your call.
As for switching out the bulbs, no you cannot. They are not the same type of bulb I don't think. The amber ones in the very corners of the headlights (the parking lights) are "peanut" bulbs... I think it's bulb type 168? -- and the amber color is actually due to an amber overlay that can be removed as well...
this guide is useful:

Hey guys, I posted this over at the high-intensity forums too...but just a little food for thought I suppose...
I have a suggestion / thought on a future project...
I was thinking about this after I saw Iron Man... that new Audi R8 is so pimp.. and part of what makes it look so cool are the headlights - that little band of LEDs that runs right along the underside of the lights.
And you know, the overall shape of the audi's headlights is very similar to the 07 (and even 08) wrx/sti's.. Then I was thinking - you know with the HALO setup that LightWerkz has, it would be very easy to use the power inverter and just plug in a strip of LEDs that could simulate the Audi LEDs on an 07 subaru.
kinda like this.... R8 - Selective Colour on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I mean, if you bake open the headlights anyway, it seems that there is prob. enough room in there to double stick tape down something like this (maybe there is stuff from computer cases that can also be adapted?) or maybe something like this?

Anyway, just a thought
