Gear Position LEDs

Has anyone seen or done these because i just think i may be the first

Well, i got bored one day at work, thought some expensive cars have it and video games have it...so i decided to do this...instead of a screen that says 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 to tell me what gear iam in, i'm using LEDs to make this easier, 6 LEDs, 2 rows, 3 columns.

sooo, i got it all done, took me 2-3 hours at work (getting paid to work on my own car ftw). i'll post pictures for those who might be interested but its ugly at the moment, i mean, this is total ghetto rig, i poked 6 wholes next to the center clock, the holes are all cricket cus i just wanted it done before i got off. i plan on making it better, add back light to see the position of lights relative to each other.

props for useless mod?

Needed:
LEDs. i used car alarm LEDs
Resistors, i used 2700 ohms for ground and 3000 ohms for power, need them for each led. (LEDs will blow without them)
Wires
ABS plastic
Electrical Tape
Two part adhesive or hot glue
Solder, recommended but not needed
Some creative mind
Carelessness for perfection
4 Screws
Drill bit and drill or dremel or whatever to make holes with

Pictures to come.

Here are pics and videos.
I dont have a digi cam like most people do (iono why, i just would rather spend money on something else).
i thought it isnt as important to borrow someone else's digi cam but interesting enough to post with my phone cam.
