A VTEC badge should be good for an extra 50+ HP when it kicks in, yo.

hmmm... gut the cat out the uppipe, tighten the wastegate armature a few turns, rig up your windshield washer nozzel to spray onto your intercooler, and put ice water in your reservoir. run open downpipe, remove the intake silencer, umm... reset the ecu. and add some toulene to your gas. and if you really wanna go crazy drop in a k&n filter and run some royal purple oil.

old thread, but still surprised nobody mentioned an OpenPort cable and a free map like this one:
http://www.romraider.com/forum/topic3211.html

All you need is someone with an openport cable and windows laptop. I used this map as a base but lowered the boost for a friends STOCK 06 WRX. spool up is 10x better, smoother, and makes more power than my modded 04 WRX. 2.5L + AVCS and only 2 cats stock(all 06+ WRX) is a perfect platform imho.

what make this thread silly, is that 100 bucks is pittance compared to the cost of a car/insurance/gas/repairs/speedingtickets.

The way I see it, 1000 in tickets make a 400 protune and 200 exhaust seem cheaeaeaep

If you want more horsepower go to dollar dayz at the fields

Drop down to 0wXX weight oil will free up some power. turn the boost up some with a mbc, crush the factory bpv to raise the leak setting. drain the coolant and use straight water and water wetter. that mix is thinner than coolant and will free up some ponies. gutt all the cats and muffler.
