wtb: Red STi y-pipe, Sti or WRX recirc hose

I just acquired an STi TMIC, but it came w/Samco hoses. They're pimp, but I did some research and it's not fitting to my small TD04 as well as the OEM STi y-pipe will.

Also, I'm looking for the stock recirculation hose from an STi or a WRX to go with the OEM bypass valve.

Reply or PM me if you can help me out. Thanks in advance!

Roy, the kit I currently have looks like that, except I have Samco pieces....which are great if I had an STi or a WRX. However, the way the STi TMIC sits on the EJ257 in conjunction w/the smaller TD04 keeps the elbow that attaches to the turbo a bit short. In other words, the hose doesn't fit all the way on the turbo. I'm experiencing a bit of boost leak due to this. If I had the VF-39, everything would be perfect. Thanks for the tip though.

Here's what I started off with...

Here's a comparison between the FXT TMIC and the STi TMIC. Note the pimp Samco hoses

I know, I know...but it was cheap and I'm already getting the OEM STi BPV anyway...just looking for the recirc hose.

And the finished (sort of) product.

yeah, i wasn't sure it would fit, because of the smaller turbo and how it sits in your car. are you running the jdm sti intercooler or usdm sti intercooler?
i have the perrin intercooler hose set...i had to cut off about 5/16 off the elbow hose. ( the side that conects to the turbo) maybe that will work?

Josh, did the STI tmic come with the gasket that's suppose to sit where the bypass goes? just watching out for you, because it usually does....reason im asking is because i don't see it in the pics...

It's the USDM STi TMIC. My issue is that the elbow is too short. So your Perrin set had the elbow too long? Hmmm...

Oooh...Good looking out, Pare. No, it didn't come w/the gasket. I'll go order one.

All it came w/was the IC and the y-pipe. No BPV, but I have one lined up already. I'll be ordering the recirc hose if I can't find one in these classifieds.

I'm going to reinstall this again tomorrow. This time, I'll be tightening the clamp on the hose connecting to the turbo first. Either way, I'll be looking for the red y-pipe as it just fits better.

Why don't you just get the larger turbo?

Many may wonder, but you've experienced first hand the "right now" power delivery in my car, right? I really like that instant kick in the *** boost offered by the little TD04.

yo josh, was wondering with this IC, did you feel any turbo lag? Remember you saying before that going with the STi tmic there could be some lag. Well just wondering cause it's a mod i'm thinking about in the future after suspension is done.
