Looking for a wrx motor to put into my car. If possible, also with a turbo, ECU, MAF, and perhaps some piping to go along with it. lmk what you got and how much you want for it. Thanks!
Josh, I have a full tub of parts from my old motor. Also, a complete wiring harness from a jdm v8 Sti. I bet Dave could pull needed stuff from that harness no problem. I also have a 02 WRX ecu, and some other stuff I'm sure. Let me do a little digging and get back to you!

I have a ej20 long block. (includes flywheel, oil pan, oil pump, waterpump)
but why would you want to do that?
Put some sti internals in your block, buy some ej255 heads, mount up a vf34 through an equal length header, and manage it with a hydra.
I have used sti rods and pistons ($200)
I also have 2 ej20 blocks with spun bearings, and a ej25 (non sti) block with a spun bearing if you're wanting to build while your car is still functioning.

sti rods and pistons wont work with his crank.its a phase 1 2.5 the rod size is 48mm not 52mm like phase 2 engines. then to fit a phase 2 crank you need to machine the thrust bearing from #3 journal to #5. finding an ej20 and wiring it up would be a whole lot cheaper and easier

If you do install an EJ20 the problem is that it is still an EJ20...almost a waste of time I would think. Weak pistons, no torque. He would be better off stacking head gaskets and turboing his current setup, that way it has little torque while having weak pistons.
His block is from an 06. A lot of the older 2.5 are 52mm with 5th thrust. Most 99 and all 2000 and up are. I've seen 98's with phase 2 also, no mater info you may find. I've seen it personally twice and I've only seen one that was actually phase 1.

i can tell you from experience the ej20 is a 2800 LB rs coupe is a fun car. coupled with the shorter gearing and 4.11 final drive from the rs it should be a blast.
stock rs will dyno at about 100 WHP and 120WTQ
ive seen stage 2 wrx tunes do 240-260hp and 240-250 WTQ thats a hella jump. it aint much work to put an ej20 in an rs

So sti internals and EJ20 heads? That sounds like a perfect plan. Just have someone dremel or machine the head's combustion chamber to fit EJ2.5. Have dave wire the ECU. done!!!!
