WTB: Clutch type lsd for drift project.

WTB a clutch type lsd. Ratio doesn't matter. R160 or R180.

I'll take a r160 vlsd for cheap too.

You really won't find one locally. Better off going to nasioc and looking there. I'm sure someone can ship it cheap, its just heavy but the post office won't care.

The r160 open will break (spider gears). Your axles joints will also break.

I know this from experience. I broke multiple of each with an old turbo'd 2.5rs. I got tired of replacing gears so I went rwd thinking it would at least be reliable. I was very wrong.

I'm not turbo'd but I am a little heavier. I got a spare open that ima weld this week. I'll just see how that goes.

I guess I'll put money aside for an r180 incase I decide to keep this car.

How'd you deal with the diff slap?
What were you doing? Drag? Mountain?

diff slap? I drove it wherever, played around in empty parking lots often. Never had it at the drag strip when it was rwd. Traction was crap. Almost dangerous.

That's disappointing that the axles are so weak.

When I shift hard or kick the clutch, I hear a loud thud behind me. I'm guessing it's the diff moving around and hitting something, or maybe the axle wiggling(less likely).

It wasn't anywhere near as loud before I went rwd.

The thud is probably the rear diff bushings, and or the driveshaft carrier. Both are easily fixed with bushings. The thud will never completely go away though unless you are on solid mounts.

I'm running full race spec poly bushings and I still can feel the thud slightly, it is much less noticeable though.

Aw, yeah I thought so. I typed axle but meant drive shaft.

Any recommendations on diff bushings?

Thought about that too. Was worried about finding axles, and maybe drive shaft.

Also thought about using the whole 240sx subframe. But if I were going to sink that much money into it I would have just found a better car. Lol
