I'm a beginner only by the amount of time it's been since I've been on a bike. I started with a real poser Katana 600 in '91, then bought a F2 in '93. Rode that for 2-3 years and haven't been on a bike since.
Maybe I should be looking into a f4i... I'm not going to hit the track, it's more for the fun of it and the commute rather than the pure performance. I'm gonna have big chicken strips by choice.

The August issue of Sport Rider magazine has a comparo of ~600cc sport bikes: CBR600RR, ZX-6R, ZX-6RR, GSX-R600 and YZF-R6. Just for a heads up.
A 600 sport bike is the object of my lust at the moment as well. I've never had a bike, but I think the Hondas are best for beginners. I'll probably be wise and get a used bike to start with.

Maybe I'll see if I can locate a nice used F4i somewhere... Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to pick up a copy of this month's Sport Rider.
I don't have the paper for something new though, so I'm looking at what each model was like 2-3 years ago...
Anybody know the significant changes that the R6 went through from '01 to '03?
