Aloha,
Testing waters for my broken 2002 WRX. Before I decide on parting out, I want to test waters on the car 'as-is'. It idles, but only on 3 cylinders. The body has 140K miles, the broken engine 10K miles. It likely has a heads issue causing coolant system to pressurize and run on 3 cylinders. I tried changing the head gaskets already. It could be as simple as having the heads resurfaced, could be a crack in the block. I don't know and don't care to fix it. The car made 355 WHP at rads this year and was tuned by PDX. You can try to fix it, use it for parts, part it out, make paperweights, use parts as gifts, turn around and sell it for more, have sex in it, I don't care.
Mods: EJ257 SB, EJ205 heads, Helix 264 cams and upgraded valve springs, TD06 20G 8cm hotside, CSS FMIC, Perrin lightweight crank pulley, Perrin rad hoses, HKS SSQV BOV, UTEC engine management with map selector and FFS, OpenSource engine management, Cobb SRI, Samco Turbo inlet, Perrin AfterMAF hose, DW 750cc injectors, Walbro FP, Kartboy Short Shifter, Whiteline sways/endlinks, Sti replica Strut bars, In-dash DVD player, TXS Tuner wideband A/F gauge, prosport boost and oil pressure gauges, TGV deletes, GT Spec UEL headers/UP + wrap, Cobb DP, Borla Hush CBE, 18" gram lights 5x100, H tech lowering springs, Viper alarm with remote start, hood dampers, custom 12" sub box with MTX sub + amp, Stainless Steel brakelines, TXS radiator plate cover, Rally Armor mud flaps, slotted front brake rotors, extra exhaust and misc gaskets BNIB, NGK one step colder plugs, STi upgraded motor mounts, Beatrush skid plate, Speedmonkey Turbo Heat Shield, and whatever else I can think of later.
I've owned this car a little more than 4 years and loved it. It's been a fun project, it's just time for me to move on. Dude. Leave it alone for a year. Let it chill. Revisit it. Don't give up on it. Sad to see another psm bugeye bite the dust. That being said, if you end up parting out I got dibs on the front bumper, grille, hood, and fenders. May the car rest in pieces.

i will take it apart this weekend. If the block is toast, i may part it out....maybe. No dibs on parts until I post a thread though.
