Question Megan Racing?

Anybody ever purchased or know of anyone who has this brand their on their cars? Just curious about the quality of their products cause the prices are so low...just wanted to know if this is one of those you pay for what you get kinda things. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I bought Megan Racing strut bars for my Celica, they were horrible. Extremely bad quality. Really soft metal, bad design, obviously they didn't research a whole lot. But when I bought the Street Series Coilovers from them, they weren't bad at all. Granted I didn't have them a long time, so I can't give you a long-term review, but they were really nice.

I've had the opposite experience with Megan as far as quality, but that's just me.
They're by far generic; there's no doubt about that, and a lot of people are against this genericism. They don't really make any unique products.

Their products are complete knockoffs, and their designs can be seen in other, more reputable brands like Apexi, HKS, etc..
But to answer your question, I have to say that the weld quality "I've seen" for most of their exhuast products is pretty good. I helped a friend install a set of headers on his TL and the TIG welds were pretty nice, although they were a bit undercut (if you know anything about welding), which is not that important unless they're supporting the weight of a turbo, for example.

I don't think you can go wrong with their exhaust products since they copy their design off of other companies. It's really hard to mess up a copied piece, in my opinion, but I guess it is possible
I would, however, not trust products unique to Megan, products that require extensive R & D. I'd get a catback and test pipe, for example, but I would never buy cams, coilovers or anything of that nature that requires research to make effective.

Hope that helps...

That helps a lot! Thanks! The reason I was asking is they have a header/uppipe combo for like 300...it just sounded like a good price but was iffy on the brand...I'm starting to see the name around more and more but still didn't know about the quality.

Just to let you know, Megan Racing coilovers are not made by Megan Racing. They're just another brand's rebadged coilovers. I forget exactly what brand it was, but it was some lesser known company.

My brother had a Megan Racing exhaust and I thought it was pretty damn nice personally. Good quality, sound and welds. Then again its hard to mess up an exhaust.

my friend has megan exhaust manifold, turbo outlet, downpipe, and cat-delete pipe on his evo (all from vakamon btw). they are all excellent looking pieces and I guess they perform well too since he ran a 13.00 with them.

Here we go. MR coilovers are actually BC's "VH Design" coilovers rebadged w/ MR stickers. Apparently BC has been around a while and is a reputable company, much like Helix.

certain things seem okay from them like suspension, etc. BUT things like exhaust manifolds should be reputable brands, because even if the megan looks good, it might crack within a year. b
