Just an idea: Since sometimes it is hard to find a good EJ257 on the island that isnt in someones car, you might consider looking into ordering one from Cali. You can get a rebuilt stock short block for around $1700 from Outfront Motorsports, which is a reputable builder. I just bought mine from them and Honolulu shipping is just down the street. They charged me $40 to pick up the block from Outfront and then about another $140 to ship it out to the island. Total will be probably be around $1900-$2000 to have a block in your hands.

Not trying to take away a sale from someone, just offering another solution in case you cannot find anyone with the motor you are looking for....

 

Maybe on the first date...but after that, no head is a deal breaker!!!
