pretty sure you're supposed to use the lightweight not the heavy. Most places don't keep it in stock even here in California, I doubt you'll have a whole lot more luck on the islands. I had to go to a home-garage based reseller of Redline goods.

For what it's worth i've tried Scotty's cocktail and just straight lightweight shockproof. No difference in shift feel between the two, but I did feel a lot better not having to wonder if the cocktail horror stories are true.

The original mix was with lightweight. The new and improved version is heavyweight.

You don't want USC. It turns corrosive.

Got a source for that? I've been using it for years, never seen even a single report of it "turning corrosive," and don't see in any case how it would be possible for an oil to suddenly decide that it wanted to go all "nom, nom, nom" on the metal bits after faithfully protecting them for years. Maybe fattening the old gears up for the slaughter?

Hmm well I beat the gears for autox so maybe two things eating my gears will form something that creates them. Ya know a negative multiplied by a negative equals a positive. In all seriousness yes please list a source for that. I am currently 100% for it

Been hiding under a rock for those years? It's been common knowledge for a while. According to UOA it starts corroding your brass synchros after about 10k miles of use. Confirmed by shops who do transmission rebuilds in bulk (DS1 and Andrewtech).

So the synchromesh is the problem. Good because that wasn't expensive and I only got 1. Ill replace with no additives. If my **** blows ill keep y'all informed Lolz.

LOL, no, I read that thread, but mostly for the hilarity. Thanks for the info, but it appears that the posts you quoted are very out of date and refer to the GM Syncromesh fluid used in the original cocktail, almost 10 years ago. The newer formulation uses Penzoil syncromesh which specifically states, " ...excellent synchronizer performance and compatibility with yellow metals, such as bronze, brass and copper components found in manual transaxles and transmissions."

But regardless, the difference in the quality of shifts is significant, I was getting some pretty good grinding until I switched to the V1 cocktail. I'm willing to accept added syncro wear in exchange for not grinding.
