The part number for the wrx and the legacy coilovers are different, so Idk if they would fit.

08+ wrx suspension will interchange with 05-09+ legacy and 08+ foresters but not STI unless modified to fit. Spring rates are different between models that's why part numbers are different. I think legacy is little stiffer than wrx but I might be wrong.

I have not heard that the GR/GH wrx and BP/BL legacy suspension is interchangable....

GE/GH wrx and BL/BP legacy physically are identical. Front will bolt up as coilovers and rear too. But spring and struts are not easily interchangable because rear top hats are different on legacy. You can drill out the wrx top hat to accomidate the larger diameter shock shafts of the legacy struts but they are also taller than wrx. But more importantly, the rear trailing arm/ hub assembly geometry is different on legacy. That's why the spring rates are stiffer on legacy rears. So basically, the coilovers should go in but the spring rate is not the right ones. But for the asking price, you can't go wrong and shouldn't matter much if he's only on street not doing SCCA or anything cause aftermarket spring rates are higher than oem anyway

I forgot to mention the struts are shorter on legacy so wrx can be slammed but like most full coilovers, the lower perch can be adjusted to make the overall coilover longer to adjust the ride height he wants.
