hey Jess, someone correct me if im wrong but i believe the standard size for 18x8.5 is 245/35/18. i think you would be stretching the tire quite a bit for that fitment if it does at all.

I had 225/40/18's on my 18x8.5 SSR SP1s and they hardly stretched. If you want stretch on your 18x8.5, then go with 215 or even 205 series. My friend has 225 series on his 18x9.5 rim.

this may be a better illustration of how 225/40/18 looks. I guess it looks slightly stretched but nothing compared to what the 240 guys have on their setups.
