I had it mounted inside the fenderwell right were the intake snorkel was.. the two hose barbs poked straight out of the hole in the fenderwell.

you need some type of medium...

such as a fibrous material (steel wool, etc.) that will help trap and allow the oil vapor to condensate to liquid form to trap the oil in the catch can...I didn't think mine worked that well but eventually, my clear clear lines turned brown from the oil...

nothing. its a can with 2 nipples where you can attach the hoses. And you can get the hose from home depot.
